How to use the SMS Functionality

In order to use the SMS commands you will first need to register your mobile phone number during the card application process. If you haven't registered your mobile number during the application, you can register the number once you have logged in to your card account online.

Once this is done, you will be able to use the following commands to manage your Range Card by sending simple text messages to + 44 (0) 7797805211.

SMS functionality allows you to:

Move funds (to or from your card to another
Range Card)
Load your card
Check your balance
Lock/Unlock the card

Share Funds

Funds can only be shared between to
another Range Card.

Load funds onto your Range Prepaid Card - Load Command

Allows you to load your own card using your debit or credit card pre-registered on the system.

Text "LOAD <Last four digits of your card number><Amount>" to + 44 (0) 7797805211

Example: LOAD 1234 5000

Note that the amount is expressed in the currency of your Range Card. So in the example above £50.00 was loaded on your card.

Move funds from your Range card to another Range Card – using recipient card number

If you know the card number of Range card you would like to transfer funds to use then:

Text " TOCARD <Last four digits of your card number><Recipient Card Number><Amount> " to + 44 (0) 7797805211

Example: TOCARD 1234 5195203322221111 1000

The card number entered is the card number of the person you are transferring funds to. Note that the amount is expressed in the card currency - in pounds and pence So in the example above £10.00 would have been loaded on your card..

Move funds to another Range card - using the recipient mobile number

If you don’t know the card number of the person you would like to transfer funds to, you can use their mobile phone number (if they have registered their number to their card).

Text "SEND <Your pin><Recipient Mobile phone number><Amount>" to + 44 (0) 7797805211

Example: SEND 1234 00447974171234 1000

Note that the amount is expressed in the currency of the sending Range Card in £ pence. So in the example above £10.00 would have been sent to your card.

Balance

If you would like to know the current balance on your Range Card then:

Text "BALANCE<Last four digits of your card number>" to + 44 (0) 7797805211

Example: BALANCE 1234

You will receive an instant SMS back with the up-to-date balance on your card

Lock and Unlock

Please note that this command is intended to be used for temporarily locking your card to stop others attempting to use it or if you do not wish to use it for an extended period of time. If you suspect that your card is lost or has been stolen, you should contact customer services on +44 (0) 207 125 0201 immediately.

Lock Command

To temporarily prevent any withdrawals from cash machines (ATMs) and purchases via retailers (POS)), you can lock your RANGE card using the following command

Text: "LOCK<Last four digits of your card number> " to + 44 (0) 7797805211

Example: LOCK 1234

Unlock Command

To reverse the lock option

Text: "UNLOCK<Last four digits of your card number> " to + 44 (0) 7797805211

Example: UNLOCK 1234
